Instruction Space Guidelines
The Montgomery College Library instruction rooms are designated for library employees to facilitate hands-on instruction for student, faculty, and staff interactive learning. Use of classrooms is scheduled each semester according to priority of use (see list below) to meet the goals of the MC Library information literacy program:
- MC librarian-led information literacy sessions, requested by faculty.
- Other MC Library-related workshops (ELITE sponsored workshops, faculty training sessions, other library-sponsored programming).
- Training and development sessions for library staff.
Outside Room Requests
While we are committed to accommodating the College’s need for space, our information literacy program is the priority of the MC Library. Instructors on campus who need a classroom with individual computers should reserve a space through their campus facilities office using the On Campus Space Reservation Form, found under the tab for your individual campus.
Appropriate Use of Room
At the end of the class, the facilitator is responsible for:
- Turning off the projector and shutting down the workstation.
- Logging off computers, discarding trash, and other housekeeping needs.
- Cleaning the whiteboard.
- Making sure the room is closed.
Please report any technical issues or other concerns to the Office of Information Technology for immediate assistance. In addition, notify the head librarian point of contact listed below. The head librarians act as classroom coordinators and ensure that problems are tracked and addressed when possible.
