Borrowing, Renewing, and Fines
To borrow library materials, Montgomery College students and employees must show their MC ID. Community users must show their MC library card.
In general:
- MC Students and employees may have up to 20 items on their library account at a time.
- Community users may have up to five items on their library account at a time.
- Most library materials do not have overdue fines.
- The due date can be extended for many library items by renewing the item in your library accountnew window or asking for help at the library service desk.
- The library charges replacement or damaged item fees for lost or damaged library materials. If a lost item is returned within two years, the replacement fee will be reimbursed.
Certain high-demand or high-value materials have additional borrowing restrictions or may incur fines. Please explore the dropdown menus for each item type below to learn more.
