Montgomery College’s Rockville Campus library will undergo a major renovation to modernize the library. Timeline

Third Floor Closure

The Rockville Campus library's third floor is closed to allow collections and shelving to be packed. All third floor study spaces, group study rooms, and the library's circulating, folio, and children's literature collections are unavailable. Floors one and two remain open as normal. We apologize for the inconvenience!

While the third floor is closed, please consider the following alternative study and computer spaces on the Rockville Campus:

• Digital Learning Center: Humanities (HU) building, suite 307.
  • Open Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Ackerman Learning Center: Science West (SW) building, room 109.
  • Open Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
• Writing, Reading, and Language Learning Center: Macklin Tower (MT) 002 & 020.
  • Open Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Temporary Space

During renovations, the library will relocate to the Academic Annex (CB) building. More information about the temporary library space will be coming soon!

Services and Resources

The following library resources and services will be available in the CB library during the renovations:

• Textbooks and course reserves
• Library technology, including computers for public use, laptop and tablet lending, and scanners and print stations
• Newspapers
• Group study rooms  new window
• Assistive technology and equipment
• Research assistance
• Library instruction 

Additional Support

Additional library support options during renovations include:

• Intercampus loan: library items from another campus can be requested and sent to the CB library. Items may take up to four business days to arrive. The Rockville library’s collections, except textbooks and course reserves, are unavailable during renovations.
• RaptorSearch  new window: provides 24/7/365 access to almost all of the library e-resources, including articles, e-books, and streaming videos for all current students and employees. 
• Online research support: via text, 24/7/365 chat, and online appointment.
